Wyeth Santa Ynez Barn Jacket ($280)
Calling it now. This jacket will be my most worn piece this Spring and Fall.
I was so excited to shop Jacey Duprie’s new brand Wyeth when it launched last year. I’ve been a long time follower of Jacey and have always enjoyed her classic, unfussy, but put together vibe. I think her style also spoke to the Californian in me. It was cool and causal without looking like you were going to the beach at any moment (though this jacket could certainly be taken to the beaches of the Central and Northern coast of California — my favorite places).
Wyeth sells a mix of designers as well as Jacey’s in house brand, so to fully support her personal design I wanted to shop from her brand and this jacket was a no brainer. The moment I saw it on the model I added both the Napa Olive and Black into my cart.
The jackets arrived quickly and in the most beautiful branded box and tissue ever. I bought the M based on the size chart, but exchanged for the S in both. The exchange process was so easy and to my surprise free! So many small boutiques have restocking or handling fees (I’m looking at you Lake Pajamas) and it’s so hard to shop online with confidence knowing you might potentially not get all your money back. I know it costs Jacey more to offer free returns, but she’s gained a repeat customer because of it.
The jacket itself is perfect. Corduroy collar and pocket, nicely weighted and mildly thick cotton body, and the sturdiest zippers and buttons I’ve ever seen. We had a nice stint of warmer weather this past weekend and I wore both jackets multiple days in a row. They are versatile, comfortable, and very well made, well worth their higher price tag.
My only wish is that it had been made in the US, especially knowing Jacey’s history of growing up on her parent’s cotton farm. Yes, manufacturing in the US would mean the price of the jacket would be higher, but I would gladly have paid for it. Here’s hoping she can move her manufacturing to the US eventually 🤞🏼Until then, she’s still got me as a customer and follower!
