Westman Atelier Vital Skincare Dewy Foundation Drops ($68)
This has been the most talked about complexion product in the last six months. I could not escape it, so when the Sephora Sale happened it seemed like the perfect time to try it out and get a hefty discount.
I wear foundation products almost never and I’m INCREDIBLY picky when it comes to complexion products so I went in with very little expectations. The product’s main ingredients are Squalane, Water, and then oils making this extremely hydrating, dewy, and liquid-y. You’ll see in the next photo that just one drop started sliding down my hand immediately. While liquid-y and thin, there is still coverage based on how many drops you apply, but probably not full coverage.
If you have oily skin, you will not like this product. Normal to dry skinned gals will probably love this. The formula is easy to work with, but does require some experiementation to find your perfect application. I used this on top of moisturizer and blended with my fingers and brush. The high oil content does make the product take longer to set, but the end product is beautiful. So beautiful I wore it for our Christmas card photos! I plan to try the drops with my moisturizer next to see if that products a lighter tinted moisturizer look. I could see normal skin folks using this without a moisturizer underneath, using a mattifying primer, and/or setting with a powder. Like I said, it will take a few times of trial and error to find your perfect application.
Overall, I’m really impressed and plan to use these drops for photos and events in the future, but probably not everyday.
