Wavytalk Thermal Brush ($45.99)
I already wrote this review once. Let’s hope the caption doesn’t disappear again 🤞🏼
I am very late to TikTok. When I downloaded the app six months ago, at least 50% of my For You page were girls using the Wavytalk brush to create these incredible faux blowouts. Most of the girls had hair completely opposite of mine. Long, thick, and easy to style. It wasn’t until I started to see girls with shorter or curlier hair that I decided to purchase the brush for myself.
The brush has two heat settings. Neither gets insanely hot, but I wouldn’t let it sit too close to my roots for too long. No matter which setting you use the brush does have that classic “cheap hot tool” smell, but my hair never felt or looked like it was being burned to a crisp. Much to my suprise the thermal brush’s bristles are very flexible and brush through the hair super easily. I never felt a snag or tug 👏🏻 The brush is incredibly lightweight and makes it easy to travel with instead of a curling iron. Also to make it extra clear, this brush is NOT a blow dryer and can only be used on dry hair. There is no air or motor used and it is completely silent.
On my fine and medium length hair I found it difficult to create the bouncy blowout waves like I saw on TikTok. I don’t know if it’s a me problem though. The brush seems best suited for those with long (top of boob length or longer) and thick (both in density and texture) hair. If you do not have hair of that description (aka me), you can still use this to refresh bangs/layers around the face.
I don’t grab for this brush as much as I’d like, but I’m happy to have it for my hair is long again. It’s not a total fail, but also not a total win.
