Tower28 GetSet Matte Powder Blush ($22) *GIFTED*

I really love Tower28 as a brand. GetSet is their first powder blush. What makes it different from other blushes on the market is that it's a blush and setting powder in one. They are HIGHLY pigmented and the setting powder aspect of the blush offers a truly matte and blurred finish. Of the colors offered, I chose Sawtelle Slushie (rose), Long Beach Iced Tea (earthy rosy pink), and Culver Crush (pinky peach).
I love that each container is the color of the blush. It makes finding it in the abyss of my makeup drawer much easier. The price, $22 for 4g, is really great. In comparison to my fave, Dior's Rosy Glow in Pink, it's almost half the price for almost same size. I don't struggle with pores or texture on my cheeks, but the blush did look smooth. If you're someone who gets oily on the cheeks or has larger pores/texture, this blush is definitely worth trying. They are highly pigmented and last a very long time. The brand says 12 hours, but tbh I didn't test it for that long as I never wear my makeup all day.
A few things I didn't love. The campaign for this blush seemed a little odd. The models are wearing the blush SO heavily, it rivals Effie Trinket from the Hunger Games. They are trying to demonstrate its high pigment, but I think it could confuse people on how this blush is best applied. A setting powder finish sounds great in theory, BUT it creates a LOT of fallout. I get nervous that if it is rattling around in a makeup drawer or bag, with enough movement it could end up cracking or getting very messy. When applying I learned very quickly a standard blush brush caused too much of a mess and grabs way too much pigment. A dual fiber brush, a VERY light touch, and always tapping the excess off is paramount.
Despite these small cons, I do think this is a very innovative product especially for women who are oily or struggle with their blush lasting all day. These won't be replacing my Dior Rosy Glow blushes, but I can see myself pulling these out when I need to take Christmas card photos or for an event when blush often doesn't last long when battling my hydration forward skincare underneath.
