Tower 28 SOS Daily Rescue Facial Spray ($12-68)
My last three reviews have been duds, so I thought we needed an upper and I have just the one. A few months ago I was dealing with a lot of breakouts around my nose and before I figured out it was the Biossance Copper serum (The Ordinary is the best and only one I recommend now!), I decided to test out Tower 28's hero product, the SOS Daily Rescue Spray.
The brand founder, who struggled with eczema, created this spray and the brand as a whole, to work well with sensitive skin. Tower 28 is actually the first and only brand to have all their products certified by the National Eczema Association. Sensitive skin girls rejoice! Their facial spray is marketed towards anyone with angry skin that is inflamed and struggling with redness. That perfectly described my skin at that time. SOS only has three ingredients: water, sodium chloride, and hypochlorus acid. The last ingredient is a common active in burn units to help heal skin with its anti-bacterial, and anti-inflammatory nature.
The spray is fine and even and the next morning I woke up with far less redness and some of my breakouts visibly healed. Since then I haven't been without this spray. I love how lightweight it is and soothing. It definitely smells like something you'd find in a hospital, but it doesn't linger.
Acne-prone and sensitive skin folks definitely need this in their routine, but I think even normal, dry, and oily skin types could benefit or at least have it on hand for when that inevitable breakout does pop up. They currently sell this in a mini, regular, and jumbo refill size and I will definitely be buying the jumbo during the Sephora Sale this week!
