Summer Fridays Light Aura Vitamin C + Peptide Eye Cream ($42)
Dear Eye Creams,
Do you actually do anything?
Love, Every Woman in the World
But seriously, has there really been an eye cream that is truly transformative? I’ve tried so many in my decade plus of skincare usage and while I’ve certainly used ones I liked more than others, none have ever been so amazing that I’ve given my full loyalty too.
Summer Fridays’ eye cream is a good eye cream. It’s thick, but not too much, it blends well and doesn’t cause slippage of makeup, and it hydrates like all eye creams are meant to do. It’s added ingredients of vitamin c and peptides though don’t seem to be doing as much as they’re supposed to. At least not for me in the 5 months I’ve been using it. The slight salmon color reminded me of the Origins Ginseng eye cream and I hoped it had the same magical color correcting power. It doesn’t 🥲 The vitamin c is probably doing something, but nothing so drastic that I’ve noticed any difference to the darkness under my eyes. Caffeine is also a contributing ingredient. This too fell short for me. The only caffeine based eye cream I’ve ever seen an immediate difference from was Fig + Yarrow’s Eye Bright, which sadly no longer exists (RIP).
Overall, it’s a fine eye cream that has done its job with hydrating, but other than it’s uncanny ability to be lasting almost six months, it’s not an eye cream I plan to repurchase.
