Summer Fridays Heavenly Sixteen All-In-One Face Oil ($55)
If you can’t tell already, I try almost every Summer Fridays product they launch. Some are hits, some are misses, and a lot sit in the middle ground of “good, but not worth a repurchase.” Their Heavenly Sixteen oil sits in that middle ground.
This face oil is packed with sixteen (duh) different oils to hydrate, plump, and soothe the skin. It’s lightweight and has the right amount of oil feeling that makes the skin look hydrated but not greasy. The oil can be used two ways. The first being as a final step on top of moisturizer, the second being as an addition to moisturizer for more hydration. I chose to follow the step two route, but with a small twist. I used this immediately after my Josh Rosebrook Hydrating Accelerator and before moisturizer. With the face still wet from the mist, the oil is able to penetrate deeper and absorb more quickly. I loved the feeling and the result of this method. The bottle says 1-2 drops is enough, but that made little difference to my dry skin. I used my usual 4-6 amount and it was perfect. Even with using 8-12 drops a day, this bottle lasted me about 3-4 months!
I did notice hydration, but I wouldn’t say it was anything revolutionary. It’s a product that I would recommend to those looking for hydration alone, but if I’m going to use an oil I want it to target more than just moisture levels. I used this immediately after finishing up my Vintner’s Daughter and there was no comparison. The Vintner’s Daughter transformed my skin in a way I’d never seen an oil do. So going to this right after was quite the letdown.
All in all, it’s a good product, but if you’re looking for something that can hydrate well but also target skin texture and tone, fork over the money for Vintner’s Daughter you will not be disappointed.
