I was turned onto Rōz Hair after seeing videos of Emma Stone’s glam at the Oscars. Shortly after, the founder, Mara Roszak, was interviewed on one of my favorite podcasts, @secondlifepod.
I bought the shampoo, conditioner, and milk hair serum. First impression: the packaging and scent were divine. If you’re into aesthetically pleasing shower niches, this brand is right up your alley. The shampoo and conditioner came in aluminum bottles THAT DON’T CHIP(!) and the serum in a gorgeous and heavy glass bottle. For the price of these products I appreciated the higher end packaging. The scent was extremely fresh, a little earthy, but in a spa-like way not crunchy hippie way.
The shampoo is sulfate free (I’m not anti-sulfates btw) and requires a bit of work to get a good lather. The first cleanse I had to use 3 pumps to adequately scrub my scalp. On the second cleanse I used 1.5 pumps and it lathered easily. I have fine, medium density hair, if you have thick, high density hair, you will FLY through the shampoo. The conditioner required 4 pumps (not a lot comes out in a single pump). It was fine, but I didn’t feel like my hair was super silky or more detangled than other conditioners. Overall, the bottles are beautiful, but I can’t see myself repurchasing either once.
The Milk Serum is a leave in conditioner that is used on damp hair before styling or dry hair as a smoothing product for flyaways/frizz. This product does not have heat protection, so you will need to add a heat protectant product to your styling concoction. This product is funny because it works and doesn’t work depending on how I’m styling. If air drying, this barely touches my frizz and using a gel is a must! If blowdrying, I love how lightweight it is and it does a good job at detangling. If you’re a gal who loves a slicked back pony/bun life and you find the DaeCactus Styling Cream too heavy, I think you’d LOVE this! I see myself repurchasing this product, but thankfully with only needing one pump on my fine hair, this bottle will last me well over a year!
Stay tuned later this week on my review of the rest of the line!
