Pura Smart Fragrance Diffuser ($44)
The scent of a home is very important to me, mostly because no one forgets a house that smells 😵💫 Owning two dogs is another driving force to me.
I’ve seen Pura diffusers online for years now, but since I’ve always loved the experience and ambience of lighting a candle they never really piqued my interest. This account and the upcoming holiday season gave me the urge to finally try it out.
If you’re into “non-toxic” living plug-in diffusers are probably not something you’d have in your home, but Pura has a “Pura Promise,” a list of harmful ingredients and chemicals that they do not allow in their scents. They offer hundreds of scents made by Pura and popular brands like Nest, LAFCO, Capri Blue, and more meaning you can buy your favorite candle scents without the 💰(each scent runs between $9-14). If scents are usually headache inducing, you’ll love that Pura shows the Allergens in each scent and you can filter their offerings by intensity.
The Pura is wifi-adapted and connects to an app that allows you to customize a schedule for each scent and choose the intensity. In the four scents I’ve tried out I find they are quite intense until they start to run low. If a scent isn’t a love, Pura does allow returns 👏🏻
Overall, my month of use has been a positive one, but I still really miss lighting a candle and don’t think the Pura will be something I use for my daily home scent. I think I would use it to scent my home before returning from a trip, hosting overnight guests, or for parties. The Pura easily scented my main living spaces (roughly 600+ sqft) and each scent lasted about a month of every other day use on a low intensity (about 120 hours of use for each scent). Three weeks in I did notice the intensity had to be increased and then quickly stopped giving off scent even though there was still oil in the cartridges, apparently this is common for all scents 🤷🏻♀️.
If you’re a Pura user, let me know what your favorite scents are what your experience with the Pura has been like. Should I give it more use to fall in love or will my candle-loving self never be able to fully convert to plug in life?
