Maya Chia The Super Blend Pressed Serum Concentrate ($105)
Vintner’s Daughter was my skincare workhorse for years. I loved that it hydrated my skin, reduced the appearance of my pores and “11” lines, and with its high price it lasted about six months. When my bottle finished up, many of you recommended Maya Chia’s Super Blend as a great and even better dupe.
The first big win for the product came before it was delivered — the price. Yes, it’s still over $100 but it’s almost half the price of one bottle of Vintner’s Daughter Serum, so my wallet was very happy. Maya Chia also goes on sale far more often than Vintner’s does, so I saved even more. Do you see the girl math, mathing?
An obvious difference between the two products is Vintner’s is a traditional liquid serum while Maya Chia’s is a pressed oil blend that melts with the warmth of your skin. The pressed formulation means a little goes a long way. I started using this on August 31st and still have at least 3 months left in the product. My dry skin in combo with Denver’s very dry climate means I do use more than maybe what’s required for most. Those who live in warmer and humid climates could probably get an entire year’s use out of one tub.
Let’s talk about results. Both products delivered hydration and addressed pore size and fine lines, but Maya Chia has a leg up on Vintner’s with their addition of shelf stable Vitamin C, Astaxanthin (antioxidant), and CoQ10. These ingredients seem to leave me with a better glow than Vintner’s alone and means I don’t have to add a Vitamin C into my routine. I use Super Blend twice a day after spraying Tower 28’s SOS Spray and then layer on the next steps of my skincare regimen. Maya Chia says you don’t need to layer with more serums or oils, but I found this time of year my skin gets drier than usual so I add Osea’s Day Glow Serum to get optimal all day hydration.
Overall, I’m really impressed and love that it consolidates a lot of your skincare routine into one step. I know that $105 is still a lot of money, so I bought Primally Pure’s Antioxidant Balm which has similar ingredients, and it’s only $35! Look out for that review in the New Year!
