Left on Friday Weekender Suit ($180)
My go to one piece has been a (now discontinued š¢) Hunza G Solitaire. When their iconic crinkle fabric got torn the month before vacation I frantically went on the hunt for a new black suit to take its place. I had listened to the founders of Left on Friday on the @secondlifepod. Two Lululemon design employees decided to take their expertise in creating activewear into bathing suits.
I chose the Weekender suit to try out. It is described as a high cut leg with medium butt coverage. As someone who is pear shaped, a high cut leg is the only swimsuit style that I donāt despise. I also loved the low back for maximum back tan potential.
All LOF suits are double lined. They are incredibly smoothing and have the perfect amount of compression for support. Aka: no belly button imprints! šš» The suits I looked at did not include cups or shelf bra, which is my preference, but the brand does put the recommended boob size in the product description. The weekender is a lower cut suit and is meant for small to medium boobs. (Iām a 36C) I didnāt have any nip slips or inappropriate cleavage incidents while wearing on the side of the pool or in the water.
High cut bottoms usually mean wedgies are inevitable. There were a few, but way less than I expected. Medium coverage is the maximum the brand makes. I recommend reading the reviews and looking at photos to see other customers with your body type to get a better idea on fit.
I only have two complaints. The first, I cannot get the mineral sunscreen fully out of the suit. This is the first time this has happened to me so Iām assuming itās due to the fabric. The second, the hem is on the inside which makes for a very smooth silhouette, but it also causes rolling. It wasnāt super annoying, but something I couldnāt ignore. I hope this is something they can improve upon because itās near perfect.
Overall, I am extremely pleased! I felt good and supported and even trying this on while on my period for the photo today didnāt feel like a nightmare. And isnāt that what we all want in a bathing suit experience?
