Lancôme Lash Idôle Lash-Lifting & Volumizing Mascara ($27)
My everyday face consists of brow gel, bronzer (if I’m not being lazy), and mascara. Since getting lash lifts, mascara is a much faster and enjoyable process as my lashes no longer need to be recurled mid-day from being weighed down by product. I also no longer have to wear waterproof mascara in an effort to keep the hold all day and nighttime me is very grateful for this.
I used to gravitate toward volumizing mascara, but since the addition of lash serum the volume of my lashes has increased and now I focus on length and separation. Lash Idôle is Lancôme’s newest mascara that does both lash lifting and volumizing with a tapered plastic brush. I don’t love plastic brushes as I often stab myself in the eye, but they do deliver the best lash lengthening. The curve also does well in aiding the lifting effect from the root. The initial application goes on smoothly, and I have not noticed any smearing or flaking with the original formula — a big win!! I don’t love that reapplying during the day causes a crunchy, thick, and spidery look so if you love to layer mascara throughout the day this won’t be for you.
When I got Lash Idôle, I was surprised to see how similar the brush was to a fave of mine, Covergirl Clump Crusher. Lancôme’s has more varying sizes on the brush but Covergirl’s goes on smoother, can be reapplied throughout the day without looking heavy, and even better…it’s only $7.99!
I enjoy Lash Idôle, but it’s not a repurchase for me. I’ll stick to my Clump Crusher and if I want volume, Lancôme’s Monsiuer Big or Diorshow Overcurl!
