JVN Complete Hydrating Air Dry Cream ($26)
As the owner of naturally fine, curly, frizzy hair finding styling products for air drying is a battle I’ve faced for 29 years. L’Oréal Kids Tangle Tamer is not a product I took with me post 5th grade especially after my cousin introduced me to the magic of a straightener. Surprisingly after daily heat use my hair was in pretty good conition until I moved out of my parent’s house. Denver city water in combination with almost another decade of heat styling has made my hair so fragile, damaged, and frizzier than ever. I found products in the past that I have liked a lot, but nothing could tackle my frizz completely.
JVN’s Hydrating Air Dry Cream was a product loved by many of you and highly reviewed and recommended on Sephora.com. I had high expectations, but stayed realistic knowing it would probably be like all other products and still let some frizz through. So on a day I knew I was staying home I applied a dime sized amount on freshly showered hair, finger combed it through my lengths, and took the last remaining to my roots. The texture is a gel cream consistency and feels very lightweight in the hair. JVN says it delivers soft touchable hold and that’s exactly what it does. Most curl creams leave a cast on the hair to seal in moisture and keep out frizz, but this cream doesn’t leave a cast making it the best for style and go mornings.
When my hair had fully dried I was shocked that there was not one single hair of frizz. My hair’s current length and health also creates an inconsistent curl pattern, but this cream didn’t accentuate that and instead hid it somehow. It’s curl magic in a tube. The fragrance is amazing, fresh and citrusy with hints of grapefruit and tangerine. It’s the kind of smell that you wish your hair could always be.
When this mini runs out I’ll for sure be purchasing a full size. If you have FINE hair of any wave pattern, this is a must try! If you have thicker hair, I would recommend another favorite of mine that I have reviewed on the feed, Dae’s Cactus Fruit 3-in-1 Styling Cream.
Are there other JVN products I need to try out? I think I might be a new convert.
