Hey Dewy Wireless Facial Humidifier ($59.95)
If you live in a dry and/or winter climate and rely on forced air for the majority of the day there’s a good chance you own or have used a humidifier multiple times a year. Traditional humidifiers are big, pretty ugly (I’m looking at you big blue Crane), and annoying to fill and clean. Canopy, a new aesthetically pleasing humidifier now exists but I can’t get over the $150 price tag and it’s still big and bulky!
When I saw Hey Dewy on Instagram I was intrigued by the compact size (it can fit in your car cup holder), the 8 hour run time, and the almost no maintence. I ordered it immediately.
I’ve used it almost every night for about 3 months and I’ve got thoughts! What I love: the size, I keep it right on my nightstand and it doesn’t look bulky or ugly 🙌🏻, it’s so quiet, and doesn’t create too much mist causing condensation on my windows or furniture. It’s travel friendly! Parents of babies and young kids would love this for the car and a hotel room. Big pro: there is practically no cleaning outside of clearing the nozzle of any calcium buildup with a toothbrush or Q-Tip. While I haven’t seen drastic hydration levels in my skin, I have noticed I rarely wake up with a sore throat or extremely dry sinuses.
What I don’t love: when charging, a bright light flashes until it’s full so if I forgot to charge it during the day I can’t use it that night. The Dewy needs to be fully charged to complete an 8-hour session. I’ve noticed if I didn’t charge it to 100% it will have turned off at some point in the night. Lastly, like I said above I haven’t noticed anything in my skin. I’m sure it’s not doing nothing, but it’s not noticeable for skin hydration unless you’re using it for that purpose during your skincare routine.
Bottom line, I like it but it’s not a must. If you’re looking to aid in sinuses at night this will do the trick but if you’re wanting intense hydration for skin and hair you’ll probably want to stick with the traditional humidifiers or splurge on the Canopy.
Is a humidifier a must in your life? And if you have a Canopy is it worth the price?
