I may only live in a two person household, but the amount of clothes we go through in a week is astonishing (and frankly worrisome when I think how much more we will have with kids). I grew up in a single laundry day family and have been living the same way the past decade. This week I decided to do a mid-week laundry day and wow. I still didn’t enjoy doing the laundry, but it made the process so much quicker and less annoying. I know this isn’t a revolutionary idea, but it has been for me.
It was 75 degrees on Thursday. Spring is here!
I do not wear cute outfits to workout. You will not see me at the gym with a pastel coordinating set with white tube socks and Hokas. I’m not dissing those who fall into this category, in fact I always think those girls looks so cute, but it’s just not me. 99% of the time I wear all black, the same pair of shoes until they are falling apart, and my crowning jewel…the $8 A New Day Ribbed tank top from Target. When you have a short torso like me, traditional workout tops from Lululemon and the like have two options: long or cropped tops. Neither of which fit right or feel comfortable during a workout. Also, they usually start at $45 a pop — boo! The Target tank top is comfortable, stretchy, hits me right at the top of the hips for a flattering fit, and because it’s cotton, breathable. I had been guilty of grabbing my black tank out of the laundry to wear a second time before washing, so yesterday I went and bought four more. No more outrageously expensive workout tops for me! Bonus, it looks great with jeans, skirts, and more.
I was gifted a medium Lola Blanket for Christmas and my husband loved mine so much I bought a large for him and it’s incredible. They are pricey, but we both agreed they are the best blankets we have every owned and don’t see the point in having anything else. Definitely take advantage of the welcome pop up for 35% off your first order!
I shared on stories that my Rent the Runway order was such a hit! The Sandro Gabriel dress was the star. It’s a tank top style ribbed black dress with a long cream button line down the center. The ribbing is the perfect weight that smooths itself over the body and the center button closure is incredibly flattering, especially if you’ve had a “pooch” since puberty (no shame on our stomaches here, ladies!). I plan to keep this rental for awhile and might even buy it because it’s such a classic look and shape.
What I Watched
I think this is the first or second time I haven’t watched anything new. I’ve been flipping back and forth between reruns of Will & Grace, Parks & Rec, The OC, and Brothers & Sisters while doing other things around the house. A real mixed bag - haha. Let me know what is a must-watch right now? I keep hearing things about Palm Royale and Apples Never Fall.
What I Read
The Women by Kristin Hannah - I haven’t finished this book yet, but I’m enjoying it so far. I really enjoy Kristin Hannah’s books. My favorites are The Nightingale and The Great Alone. This book is set during the Vietnam war and follows Frankie, a 20 year old RN with a family history of war veterans and decides to enlist in the Army as a nurse to follow in her brave ancestor’s footsteps.
Expiration Dates by Rebecca Serle - I bought this yesterday at Target in the checkout line. I had read Rebecca Serles bestseller, In Five Years, and to be honest I really didn’t like it. The writing was good, but I could not get on board with the main character. I’m giving Serle another chance with this romance. I bought it to read after finishing The Women because I like to have a quick and shorter read after finishing a lengthier and meatier book.
Before I let you go, I wanted to remind you that the Sephora Sale has started for Rouge Members today! I’m shopping it and you can find my favorites and new to me picks here and here.
