Dior Crème Abricot Cuticle Cream ($30)
As an avid lotion user I’ve never been inclined to take my handcare game to the next level with a cuticle cream. I always thought the extra step was pointless or I’d just forget all together letting yet another product roll around in the back of my bathroom drawer. It wasn’t until now I understood the need I had for such a product.
I have decent nails naturally but they don’t respond well to gels so I try to only get them for events or vacation. Against my better judgement, I wore gels for 4 months straight last year and after New Years my nails were trashed! They were weak, ridged, breaking from the sides, and my cuticles were a mess. My first step to repair was NO polish of any kind (so far it’s helped the most) and second was adding a cuticle cream to my night time routine — the beloved Dior to be exact.
Wow, wow, wow! What an experience this product is. First off, I had to buy it from Dior.com since it was sold out everywhere else and I will continue to buy Dior makeup products from the website from now on. They treat every order like a luxury boutique would with a beautiful white textured box, ribbon, the whole nine yards! When I opened the box I immediately thought how this would make an incredible gift experience for a new mom or friend. This stuff is thick and you barely use any so this one $28 purchase will probably last me over a year, maybe even two, of daily use! My dry, cracked cuticles looked brand new by morning. Not a dry spot in sight and so moisturized! I’ll never not have a cuticle cream in my routine again.
The only con I can give is the oiliness, which is the reason it works so well, but it requires some pre planning. Because it’s so high in oil it takes awhile to absorb. You can’t just slap this on before bed and get cozy under your covers unless you want your sheets to be oil stained by morning. This is best used before bed after your skincare routine when you’re most likely watching a show to wind down or reading a book. But even though it does take time to absorb, when you see your nails in the morning you won’t care.
Do you have an at-home nailcare routine in place?
