Canopy Humidifier ($125-$150) and Humidifier Plus ($215-$255)
I love a dry climate, but the downside to a dry climate is my skin and particularly my sinuses are perpetually parched. The winter is where I feel the worst of it. My nose will crack on the edge and sometimes won’t heal until well into Spring. In an effort to stop this problem we purchased the Canopy humidifiers.
The original humidifier is suitable for up to 500 sqft of space (the Plus is up to 1,000sqft). Ours (in the green shade of course) lives in our bedroom. While it takes up space, it’s not as unsightly as the raindrop style evaporative humidifiers you see sold at Target. My favorite features are the ease of use, the way the unit will not shut off until it is completely dry, and the components are dishwasher safe. We’ve officially had it for 45 days and I was shocked the filter wasn’t worse looking and absolutely no mold or any residue at all had built up. Even more surprising, I no longer have a cracked nose 🙌🏻 I didn’t notice anything significant in my hair and skin, but my aesthetician did say my skin looked so even in tone when I saw her and the canopy is the only new thing in my “routine.”
The few cons of the humidifier is it’s quite loud on the medium and high fan settings (swipe to listen to the video). We aren’t bothered by the sound now, but it did take a few weeks to get used to and we never use the high fan speed even though that is what’s recommended at night because it’s just too loud. The second con would be you do need to fill up the tank almost every day. This is also something I’ve gotten in the routine of doing, but was a bit annoying the first week. The diffuser stones and oils were included in the bundle, but they are worthless. You can’t smell anything until your nose is directly above the diffuser stone. My last con would be about the Plus. While suitable at 1,000 sqft, we hardly notice a difference. I’m sure my plants enjoy it, but I don’t think it’s beneficial unless your bedroom is over 500 sqft.
Overall, this was a slow burn, but now when I’m away I feel so much drier in the morning than I do at home which to me is proof the humidifier is doing it’s job!
