Brooklinen Super-Plush Towels ($98)
When I got married my mom said there are three things you always buy name brand/premium: toilet paper, condiments, and towels. Toilet paper and condiments are self explanatory, but now that there are endless options and brands to buy premium towels, that category is very overwhelming. Brooklinen is not a heritage brand, it's a social media hyped one and they are very good at it. Every blogger, podcaster, and internet ad hails Brooklinen as life changing and "spa-like." After years of not listening to my mom's advice and buying cheap towels from Target, I decided to splurge during a Black Friday sale in 2020 and get the bestselling Super-Plush Towels.
When they arrived I could not believe the softness and weight. The closest thing I can compare it to is a blanket. While I could see envision the immediate comfort of using the towel, the plushness did make me nervous it wouldn't actually dry my body or the dry itself. The first few weeks the towels definitely didn't dry my body as fast as standard weight towels, but once they had been washed they become less plush, in a good way, and dried the body quickly while still feeling soft. On Brooklinen's website they warn that the weight of the towel causes a longer air dry time. I would not recommend folding this towel onto a towel bar, you 100% need a hook to let them fully dry and thankfully I haven't had issues of deep creasing from the hook or mildew smells/stains with this method.
For the first few months it was heaven. I loved them, my guests loved them, I was so happy to find the perfect towel, but then they started to feel stiff, matted, and limp. I found out that the Branch Basics laundry was to blame. BL recommends The Laundress and since switching to that, the towels that were not touched by BB has kept their plushness for a lot longer.
If you are in the market for premium towels Brooklinen will not disappoint but I wouldn't buy full price. Use a promo code or wait for a sale! If you are not in the market for premium towels I would at least recommend you buy bath SHEETS over towels, your shower enjoyment will increase exponentially.
