Avenno Calm + Restore Nourishing Oat Cleanser ($9.79)
Over the last two months I’ve mentioned in reviews and stories that I’ve been dealing with a lot of texture on my skin that wasn’t resolving no matter how basic I made my routine. My usual go to is Cera Ve Hydrating Facial Cleanser, but I wanted to try something even more gentle. I stumbled upon this new Avenno cleaner while browsing through Target. I was drawn to its claim of being ideal for irritated skin and for its relatively small ingredient list.
The texture reminded me immediately of Glossier’s Milky Jelly Cleanser which I used to love in college! The gel consistency smooths over easily, but it does not turn milky like many other gel cleansers. In fact for the first week I thought there was no way it was actually cleaning my face because it felt like nothing on my skin. But I guess nothing is exactly what my skin needed because the texture has finally disappeared and my skin feels like my skin again 🙌🏻🙌🏻
I am wildly impressed with this cleanser. Even though it doesn’t feel like it’s doing anything my skin always looks and feels clean after with no dryness or tightness at all. Even around my period it has kept hormonal breakouts at bay 🙌🏻 It does okay with removing non-waterproof mascara, but I wouldn’t use this as an initial cleanse to remove a full face of makeup. For that I have been using the Elemis Cleansing Balm I reviewed.
This cleanser has easily surpassed Cera Ve as my go-to. Avenno also expanded this Calm + Restore line with serums and moisturizers that I would gladly use if my skin ever freaks out again. While anyone can use and benefit from this cleanser, I believe those with roseaca or sensitive skin will really thrive with it.
Yay for a budget friendly winner 🥳
