Act + Acre Scalp Renew, Restorative Mask, and Cold Pressed Stem Cell Serum ($48-86)
Part two of Act + Acre’s products and my favorite of their offerings.
The first product is Scalp Renew. It’s a exfoliating gel pre-wash weekly treatment that uses 0.15% salicylic acid to gently exfoliate away dead skin and build up and leaves your scalp with a minty-tingling feeling that feels incredible. Like yesterday’s Scalp Detox, this is meant to sit on the scalp before washing (15 minutes instead of 20!). While I like Scalp Detox, this takes it to the next level. It’s super effective, feels amazing, and easier to wash out than the Scalp Detox’s oil formula.
The second product is the Restorative Mask. In a perfect world, this would be the only conditioner they sell. It’s hydrating, smoothing, and makes your hair shiny! The only thing that I don’t love is the smell. The best way I can describe it is to imagine yourself walking into a crystal store in Flagstaff, AZ 🙃 If that’s too vague a description for you, if you like Le Labo Santal 33, you’ll love this (I think Santal 33 smells like sweaty dirt, but that’s just me)!!
The last product of the Restore Collection is the Cold Pressed Stem Cell Serum. The serum packed with apple stem cells protects the scalp from aging and hair loss. Designed to be use post-wash or on dry hair at night, I love that it’s super lightweight and waterlike, keeping it from weighing down or adding any buildup to your hair. This isn’t something that will necesssrily change your hair or scalp overnight, but if you’re someone who struggles year round with a dry, tight, or itchy scalp this will surely help keep things balanced and happy, just make sure to use it daily to really reap the rewards!
Drop any more specific questions below and tell me how you feel about plant-based haircare. I’ve noticed haircare is a beauty routine people don’t necessarily care if it’s “clean.”
